It’s time to slow down and look at what we need to be fixed within ourselves as well as our environments.
Are you angry? Depressed? suffering from mental illness?
Let me tell you this, if you are suffering from a mental illness such as BiPolar or Depression, that yes; it cannot be cured, BUT with a little bit of self-reflection you will be able to manage your depression and bipolar easier.
Do you exercise for at least 20min in the morning?
Did you know that 80% of patients admitted for depression see and feel improvement within themselves by doing exercise in the mornings?
Are you eating right?
You will have more energy during the day if you eat 3-5 meals and snacks daily to keep your energy eves up (no not coffee, not coke, not chocolate and definitely, not biscuits).
Small changes in one’s lifestyle choices can lead to living a better, more filled life.
So what do we have to do each day to keep our spirits up?
- 8 Hours of sleep.
There are 4 stages of sleep:
Stage 1 & 2: this is the time you take to actually fall asleep.
Stage 3: Your body and mind start rejuvenating itself
Stage 4: Your brain starts to get rid of all the useless information it has taken in and your memory gets filed into the correct cabinets in your brain.
- 8 Glasses of water a day
Water is a transportation system within our bodies. It helps to send messages from your brain to the body and improves your capacity.
- 30min of exercise every morning
By doing exercise each morning (10 min warm-up) your blood will flow quickly through your body and give your brain the oxygen it needs to produce more endorphins. You will have a lot more energy and you will be able to concentrate more.
- Eat healthy.
The brain has approximately 100 Billion neurons that need to be fed with Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium in order for the neurons to be transferred more effectively.
- Healthy Diet
In your weekly diet you need to have: Almonds, Asparagus, Avacado,Banana, Blueberry, 80%+ Dark Chocolate, Green Tea, Spinach, Salmon (or any fatty fish, and you may supplement with Omega 3)
- 1 hour of FREE TIME to do something you enjoy.
The best time for this is between 20h00 and 21h30.
- 1 hour social with family
The best time to do this is during supper. The average person takes about 20min to finish their meal. It’s important to spend undivided attention with your family members, whether it’s by playing aboard game or asking fun questions (Google 101 Dinner Questions)
- 180 seconds of learning the art of mindfulness.
Take 3 minutes of your day and focus on the birds outside or soft meditation music while your eyes are closed.
You can even download an app on your phone to help with meditation.
There are only two things as humans that no one showed us how to do: sleeping & breathing.
In order to motivate us to work hard for us to be truly content with our lives, we need to make sure that we are happy and healthy in order to have the energy to cope with day-to-day tasks.
